Consultations
Patient consultations are conducted in our Pickering and Bowmanville locations. Dr. Buttoo sees each patient and reviews the results of the sleep study to determine if treatment is required. Appointments are Monday through Fridays.
Sleep Studies
Sleep studies are conducted to diagnose any sleep-related conditions, including Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy, Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, Insomnia, REM-related disorders, etc.
We also preform sleep studies on children four years old and up. We have a pediatric room designed for children and the diagnosis of child-related sleep disorders. This room accommodates a parent sleeping in the room with the child, to ensure the child’s experience is as comfortable as possible.
MSLT are performed to diagnosis or rule out the diagnosis of Narcolepsy. This test is followed by an overnight test and is conducted throughout the following day. This test consists of several nap periods throughout the day.
Additional Diagnostic Services
During your sleep study we observe and monitor your heart rhythm, oxygen desaturation and we have the capability to perform non-invasive nocturnal blood pressure recordings.
Many patient have been diagnosed with a cardiac arrhythmia during the sleep study and have been successful treated from the findings of the sleep study.
The nocturnal blood pressure monitoring can help with the management and ensure proper blood pressure medications and treatment as in place.
Oxygen saturation levels are monitored and further testing many be required if oxygen levels are low which most people would be aware of unless a sleep study was performed.

We also perform 24-48 hour Holter monitoring, daytime blood pressure monitoring and 14 day cardiac loop monitoring recording.
