What to Expect for Children
Every child will have a consultation with the Doctor before proceeding with a sleep study. The Doctor will review all relevant medical history along with examination of the child before a sleep study is performed. We have a room specially designed so that a parent can stay in the same room for the sleep study in order to make the child more comfortable.
What to Bring to the Sleep Study
- Bring your child’s health card.
- Bring a list of any medications your child is taking, with dosages.
- Bring two-piece nightwear and slippers. A pillow and blanket will be provided for your child but you are welcome to bring their own.
- You are welcome to bring anything to make your child more comfortable (a favorite teddy bear, hand held gaming device).
How to Prepare Your Child for Their Sleep Study
- The child can’t nap during the day
- No caffeine after 3pm on day of the test (such as chocolate or pop)
- They can have a normal dinner
